TOPIC: Achieving results for Indigenous consumers: Case studies on ASIC's work with Indigenous Communities  | GUEST SPEAKER: Nathan Boyle, ASIC's Indigenous Outreach Program (IOP)

Nathan will present on recent court outcomes in the Channic car loans case and Mintabie book up matter and explain how ASIC approached these investigations in new ways to ensure they were culturally appropriate in order to gain a fuller picture of the financial agreements made by Indigenous consumers. Uniting Care Wesley Bowden (UCWB) Western Region Support Worker Pre-Employment program - EOI 4 May 2017  west

This Program aims to recruit people living in the Western suburbs for employment opportunities as support workers in the aged care and disability sectors.  UCWB are keen to grow their support team and have an increasing demand for male workers in this area. The Program is funded by WorkReady and delivered in partnership with UCWB, TAFE SA, Interskills and WorkReady.

Pathways to Empowerment - from 9 May 2017

The Zahra Foundation are holding a 9 week course titled ‘Pathways to Empowerment’ for women who have experienced domestic violence. Beginning May 9, the course will run from 9.30am – 2pm (lunch included), and will include creative activities about financial and digital literacy, and pathways to further education or work. Power Knowledge Freedom Program - 10 May 2017

The Zahra Foundation are joining with PKF Kennedy to deliver the 'Power Knowledge Freedom Program'. The Zahra foundation seek to empower women who have experienced domestic or family violence by increasing their economic independence. PKF Kennedy are experts in finance and banking who will present a workshop in a safe, relaxed and confidential environment covering topics including saving and budgeting, superannuation, MyGov and MoneySmart. The event is aimed at women financially disadvantaged due to domestic and family violence, however all women are able to attend. The session will be held Wednesday 10 May 10am to 12 midday.
