TOPIC: How the DHS Financial Information Service assists people with financial education and Review of the National Financial Literacy Strategy

Oz Harvest Nourish program - starting 2 August 2017

OzHarvest’s Nourish program is a pathway to employment, aimed at disadvantaged and vulnerable youth between the ages of 16 – 25 years. We are partnered with Career Employment Group to deliver this training. The course is fully supported by OzHarvest volunteers and mentors and is facilitated by qualified industry professionals. It is delivered holistically to encompass not only valuable skills in the hospitality industry, but also life and general employability skills. A big part of our focus is building students’ self –esteem and working with them on their individual needs, to enable them to succeed. This is offered at no cost to the students. Zahra Foundation: Pathways to Empowerment - 2 August to 27 September

This is a 9 week course for women who have experienced domestic violence and includes creative activities, financial and digital literacy skills, and pathways to education.

A financial counsellor is also available, plus courses on money management and cooking on a budget.
