World Hepatitis Day - 28 July 2017

Viral hepatitis affects 400 million people worldwide (over 10 times the number of people living with HIV). About 1.4 million people die each year from hepatitis (also more than from HIV). Approximately 780,000 people die every year due to the acute or chronic consequences of hepatitis B. Hepatitis B Virus is the leading cause of liver cancer and it disproportionately affects marginalised populations such as migrant communities with origins in Asia, the Pacific and Africa. This year PEACE is holding a number of events to help spread the word, particularly around knowing the status and being part of the care and follow up system.

Have Your Say Forum - 15 June 2017  (Wayville)

Relationships Australia SA’s PEACE Multicultural Services warmly invite you to join them to hear insights from the mental health consultations held with South Australian Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities in April and May 2017. The Mental Health Commissioner, Mr Chris Burns, will deliver the opening address.
There will be a video launch, graduation of community champions and acknowledgement of outstanding volunteers. These are examples of community leadership and the work that has been done to tackle myths and taboo issues at a community level.

Free English Lessons - Information for Organisations - 3 July to 28 July 2017

The University of Adelaide’s English Language Centre will be offering free English lessons for students (over 18), Monday to Friday, 9.15am – 11.30am, 3 July to 28 July 2017. If you think these lessons may be of interest to the groups you work with, direct potential students to complete the easy on-line registration form by 4 June 2017.
