Carer Support runs free education and support events for carers and families of people with memory loss, confusion and dementia. Events may be suitable for the person with memory loss to attend. All events focus on information and encourage carers to take time out for a break and to take care of themselves. Events are held across the metropolitan area.
Events are organised either by Carer Support, the It’s Your Life Dementia Program or by community service agencies.
The It’s Your Life Dementia Program includes a strong focus on younger onset dementia and hosts its own calendar of events.

Are you concerned about someone in your family with memory loss, confusion or dementia?
This metropolitan-wide program will support people living with dementia, their families and carers. Living with memory loss and dementia can be challenging – physically, mentally and emotionally. There are difficulties in remembering and thinking clearly, in communicating and handling life’s activities.
We aren’t born knowing how to deal with dementia. Support is available, and you are not alone.
This program is designed to provide practical information, around the types of services and supports that are available to families, and various ways to cope with challenges that may be faced.
Who is this program for?
A key focus is on people with younger onset dementia, along with those over 65 years with dementia, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
About the program
Carers, families and people with dementia are invited to attend interactive workshops, seminars and events.
