When should I start planning for home care?
Early planning is the key to getting help at home when you need it. By planning in advance, you can make informed choices and be prepared should an unexpected event or health problem occur. As soon as you notice difficulties in managing day-to-day activities, it might be time to start creating plan of home care services.
Who can I talk with about getting some help at home?
A great first step is to talk with My Aged Care to find out your eligibility for home care services. What are the levels and hours of care available with Home Care Packages?
There are four levels of Home Care Packages with varying hours of care:

How does fee assistance work?
The fee assistance you receive from the Australian Government will vary depending on the level of your Home Care Package. This amount is paid directly to your service provider.
Will there be any out-of-pocket costs?
Where your personal circumstances allow, you will be required to contribute to the cost of your care. The amount will depend on your income and be determined by the Department of Health. Your Support Coordinator will discuss the cost of services, and any out-of-pocket expenses, at your initial consultation, prior to your services commencing.
