While we offer our services on a competitive privately funded basis, you may be eligible for government-funded Home Care Services.
Commonwealth Home Support Programme
Commonwealth Home Support programmes provide some help with daily tasks to continue living at home. Considered an ‘entry-level’ programme, they may be suitable for people who have had a setback and need a little support to get back on their feet. If you are assigned Commonwealth Home Support Programme you can choose a service provider, such as UCWB, to deliver your home care services.
Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages provide care and support beyond the level of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme. There are four Home Care Package levels of support:
- Level 1: Basic level support
- Level 2: Low-level support
- Level 3: Intermediate level support
- Level 4: High-level support
An initial ACAT assessment will determine the level you commence your Home Care Package. As your needs increase, additional assessments will enable you to receive higher levels of support. After being ‘approved’ for a Home Care Package you will be placed in a national queue and be required to wait until you are ‘assigned’ a Home Care Package by the Australian Government. When you have been assigned a Home Care Package you can choose a service provider, such as UCWB, to deliver your home care services.
Veterans Home Care Program
The Veterans Home Care Program provides eligible older Australians with a small amount of practical help to remain living independently in their own homes. UCWB is a preferred Veterans’ Home Care Program provider, which is available to people holding a Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card or White Card.
